What COVID-19 Procedures do THE PANTRIES currently have in place?

Our pantries have remained open throughout the pandemic with the safety and well-being of our clients and volunteers remaining a number one priority. Masks are still mandatory at any pantry open to the public.

This is my first time coming to a pantry — What can I expect?

Please know that we are here to help. We know that life happens, and we are here for you. You can expect to take home enough food for 3-4 days (3 meals per day). Food is given by family size so be sure to bring all required IDs. You will also need a mask at this time to enter any of the pantries that are open to the public.

What do I need to bring with me?

Almost all pantries require an I.D.  You will need your ID as well as the IDs for everyone in the household to register. We suggest you take pictures on your phone of household members’ IDs that won’t be with you as you will need these every time you visit a pantry. For children under 18,  please bring their medical card, birth certificate, or something current from their school. You may also be asked for something with your current address. This can be a lease or a bill mailed to you at your current address. Junk mail is not accepted. PLEASE call the pantry you will be visiting prior as all pantries do not have the same requirements.

Can I also pick up food for a friend who can’t get to the pantry?

There is a proxy form you must complete and they must sign, and you must also provide their ID or a picture of their ID on your phone. Proxy forms are available at the pantries.

How can I support the pantries by check?

Every dollar make difference and is greatly appreciated. A gift by check also avoids processing fees from payment administrators.

Checks can be made out to the Greater Rockford Pantry Coalition (GRPC) and mailed to:

PO Box 17051
Rockford, IL 61110

All donations are tax-deductible.
